Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s Prayer and Public Appeal

"When our real heroes, our brave soldiers are sacrificing their lives protecting our nation, it is necessary they experience that the whole country stands united with them. Time has come to dissolve all differences of caste and creed, class and clan, region and religion, party and position - and show solidarity by supporting our army - physically, emotionally and financially. We should be fully committed and extend our help through our thoughts, words and deeds. Such is my appeal to the people of India."

" For the martyrs who have laid down their lives, may Parmatma bless their souls with peace. May their children and family members gain inner strength to survive this crisis, such is my wholehearted prayer at the feet of Lord Swaminarayan. And to all people of India, it is my humble request that whichever religion you belong to, and whoever you believe in - God, Guru or Divine Energy - pray to them with all your heart for the strength, safety and success of our soldiers."

Such an emotional appeal has been made to the people of India by the world-revered spiritual leader HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha.

Prayer Meetings all over the World

With great grief and concern Pramukh Swami Maharaj offered his prayers for the martyred soldiers and has instructed all the Mandirs, Harimandirs and Satsang centres of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha to organize Prayer Gatherings and Programmes to promote unity and solidarity at this crucial hour of crisis and tension.

Prayer Gatherings at 495 BAPS Mandirs (450 in India and 45 abroad).
Prayer Gatherings at 6,814 worldwide centres.
Special prayers by 60,000 and more innocent children at 2,859 centres.
Special blood camps and other support schemes are also being carried out simultaneously.
Representation as a member to United Nations of Indian feelings.
Continuous Dhun (chanting) at many centers.

Large Prayer gathering in Ahmedabad
	A special Prayer Gathering was organized on 20-6-99, from 6.30 - 8.30 PM at BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Ahmedabad. More than 6,000 devotees gathered in the presence of sadhus, prominent ministers, leaders of various parties, the Mayor, Chief Secretary, Collector and other officials to pray in unison. They expressed their wish of the Indian army emerging victorious against the infiltrators and further glorifying the greatness and grandeur of India. Arranged under the guidance of sadhus, this gathering included Vedic prayers, national songs, mantra pushpanjli, dhun, national anthem and other emotionally stirring programmes.
