Since the dawn of civilization, Indian Culture has never ceased to attract

and amaze the world. And this spiritual charm and charisma continues till today. In the


last decade, three international centers of culture on three continents, inspired by Pujya

Pramukh Swami Maharaj, have  motivated millions. Akshardham in Gandhinagar (1992) is annually visited by 2.3 million people. Shree Swaminarayan Mandir in London (1995) has become a landmark of Europe and has been declared as one of the wonders of

the 20th century. The Mandir in Nairobi (1999) is the first of its kind entirely

carved out of wood. Akshardham in New Delhi, our fourth international

complex , will be more refined, with greater depth, detail and dimension. Combining Indian culture and civilization, traditional are and architecture, ancient values and wisdom and the best of

modern media and technology, it will provide the most powerful experience of Indian


Culture. We know the challenge ahead is enormous. Then again, so is the


commitment and dedication of thousands of BAPS volunteers, visualizers,


designers and researchers. With love, devotion and faith at the heart of project,


Akshardham may become a hallmark of our culture, our civilization,

our country, which not only India or Indians but the

whole world will look up to for inspiration. Incidentally, how often are wonders


of the world created?


Once in a millennium. Or perhaps, only just once.
