On 15 January 2001, Hon. Dr. L.M. Singhvi, MP and senior Advocate of the 'Supreme Court of India, visited the BAPS mandir in Nairobi.
He was welcomed in traditional Hindu style by Acharya Swami. During his visit, he was shown the main features of the mandir and guided through the exhibition, 'Glorious India.' Before leaving he autographed the visitors book, commenting, "Visiting the temple is the fulfilment of a spiritual command with a sense of homecoming. Here is a temple which is the noblest visual statement of a noble civilization. Creativity, confidence and the celebration of our cultural roots is the meaning and message of this temple."
