As
part of their visit to India, 80 balaks and kishores from Kenya, Uganda,
Tanzania, South Africa and Botswana participated in a special shibir
in the holy presence of Pujya Doctor Swami. Entitled 'Pillars of Faith',
each day of the shibir focused on one of three pillars.
The first day, Satsang Day, focused on niyam-dharma, unity, abhav-avgun
and other practical aspects of satsang.
The second day, Sanstha Day, gave the youngsters an overview of the
history of BAPS and its activities.
The third day, Satpurush Day, emphasised the need for understanding
Pramukh Swami Maharaj and developing atmabuddhi towards him.
Through lectures, discussions, workshops, games, audiovisual presentations
and the inspiring speeches of Pujya Doctor Swami, the youngsters learnt
a great deal.
This was the first time such a large group from Africa had come for
a shibir and all felt it was a memorable and motivating experience.
