2400 kishores and kishoris were inspired on the subject of prayer during a special assembly at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Ahmedabad, on 26 January 2009.

The assembly programme was in the form of a skit of a classroom scene in which as atheist teacher ridicules the college’s compulsory prayer session. This leads to a series of discussions with the students, many in support of the teacher and some opposing his viewpoint. The seamless presentation incorporated real-life experiences of youths, relent arguments and counter-arguments, a speech on how Pramukh Swami Maharaj resorts to prayer in all circumstances and speeches by Anandswarup Swami on ‘Science and Prayer’, and Ishwarcharan Swami on ‘How to Pray’. The presentation also featured a ‘Prayer’ dance.

The youths thoroughly enjoyed the assembly realizing the importance of prayer in every aspect of their lives and in all situations.
