Due to the lack of rains, a period of famine has hit Kenya.
To help to the affected, the BAPS prepared 4,000 food packets for distribution to the needy. Each 2.5kg packet contained corn floor, beans, salt and cooking fat. On Monday 6 March 2006, the packets were presented to the Kalonzo Mashyoka Foundation for distribution.
