On Wednesday 16 August 2006, at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Johannesburg, over 400 devotees attended the evening Janmashtami assembly, celebrating the birthday of Bhagwan Shri krishna.
In the celebrations children, youths and elders presented bhajans, speeches, an enlightening quiz and a traditional dance.
The guest of honor was HE Shri Vakil Ramdas, Deputy Counsel General of India, and his family. All were very inspired by the devout atmosphere. Shri Vakil Ramdas commented, "Upon seeing these young children performing kirtans so well, I feel assured that these young people will not go astray in life." |
