The three day murti-pratishtha celebrations at the new BAPS hari mandir in Laudioum, South Africa, began on 30 October 2008 with an evening presentation of bhajans by BAPS youths.
On 1 November, as part of the murti-pratishtha rituals, a grand Yagna for World Peace was held. Thereafter, a colorful procession of the murtis took place through the streets of Laudium.
On the morning of 2 November 2008, abhishek of the murtis was first performed. Then, after the Vedic mahapuja ceremony, the murtis were installed in the main shrine.
Pujya Bhaktavatsal Swami and other sadhus presided over the Vedic rituals, in the presence of over 650 devotees from throughout South Africa. At the conclusion of the rituals Annakut was offered and arti was performed to the newly installed murtis.
