BAPS Donates to the Needy
Kampala, Uganda
15 June 2010

This year, 2010, marks the Golden Jubilee or Suvarna Mahotsav of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha in Uganda. It commemorates the 50 years since Yogiji Maharaj inaugurated the mandirs in the cities of Kampala, Jinja and Tororo in Uganda in 1960.

As part of the Suvarna Mahotsav celebrations, BAPS in Kampala Uganda launched a medical drive to support the poor, physically disadvantaged and needy.

After the successful 50th patotsav celebration of Kampala Mandir on 14 June 2010, BAPS donated 43 wheelchairs to needy local children and adults.
Thereafter a short prayer was said before the murti of Shri Harikrishna Maharaj for peace and prosperity of recipient individuals. The sadhus then donated the wheelchairs.

This is a continued effort from BAPS worldwide which works with the vision that every individual deserves the right to a peaceful, dignified and healthy way of life. By improving the quality of life of an individual, the future of their families and communities bettered.
