On Friday 25 March 2005, the
Holi festival was celebrated at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan
Mandir, Auckland.
Around 500 devotees attended the celebration which began
with the lighting of the Holi by senior devotees of the
mandir in the divine presence of the murti of Shri Harikrishna
Maharaj. In the assembly which followed speeches and devotional
songs highlighted the significance of the Holi festival
and the glory of Bhagatji Maharaj, whose birthday also falls
on this auspicious day.
On Sunday 27 March 2005, over 300 devotees attended the
Pushpadolotsav festival. After the celebration assembly,
as they passed by for the darshan of the murti of Shriji
Maharaj, they were sprayed with sanctified water from a
sprayer placed in his hand. The devotees were delighted
to receive such blessings.
