On Saturday
27 August from 7.30 to 9.30 pm the birthday of Bhagwan Shri
Krishna was celebrated at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Auckland,
New Zealand. On this day many devotees, young and old, had observed
a waterless fast, in accordance with the wish of Bhagwan Swaminarayan
and Shastriji Maharaj. The celebration assembly on this day
featured devotional songs and speeches.
On Sunday 28 August
2005, Over 850 devotees gathered from 4.30 to 7.30 pm to commemorate
the Janmasthami festival.
The assembly featured
bhajans, speeches, a splendid performance by the children and
youths of the drama entitled ‘Khoj’ and the video
blessings of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
This celebration
assembly was also attended by Phil Goff, Minister of Justice
and Minnister for foreign Affairs and Trade, along with David
Cunliffe, Minister for Communications and Information. They
were both extremely delighted by the Anti-Drugs and Addiction
exhibition, as well as the family values promoted by the mandir.
