The Annual Rath Yatra festival was celebrated with great fanfare at BAPS Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Sydney, on Sunday 25 June 2006. Over 560 devotees attended the evening assembly which featured cultural and musical presentations focused around the importance of the Rathyatra festival. The main event of the celebration was a Kirtan Aradhana in which kishores, yuvaks and vadils sang devotional songs to the accompaniment of Indian traditional musical instruments.

During the celebrations two decorated chariots with the murtis of Shri Harikrishna Maharaj, and Lord Krishna, Balram and Subhadra were pulled through the assembly by balaks

Also, a video presentation giving glimpses of the Rathyatra celebrations in India and overseas was shown.

The celebrations culminated with the Arti and mahaprasad.
