A Satsang Shibir was organized for the first time in Christchurch, New Zealand on Saturday 15 May 2010. More than 50 people participated in the shibir which was based on the theme “Chaar Vaat Jivanu Jivan”. Sadhus from India spoke on the four main pillars of satsang – agna , upasana, surahdbhav and ekantikma priti. Inspiring video presentations and group discussions shed light on many related topics such as ghar sabha, bal sanskar and positive thinking.
The shibir was an enlightening experience for all because it gave an in-depth understanding of many important satsang concepts. Participants took vows such as satsang reading and daily puja to improve their personal satsang. Everyone felt a need to dedicate more time for satsang after learning about Swamishri’s relentless efforts for satsang.
An evening satsang assembly, themed “Sanskruti”, was held on the same day in which Vivekpriya Swami spoke on the origins of Hindu Culture, how we can uphold the ideals of our Sankruti in an ever- changing world and how mandirs help to improve the lives of people.
