On Saturday 11 December 2010, Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s 90th birthday was celebrated at the Wanneroo Show grounds, where over 150 volunteers of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Perth organized an Indian cultural festival to convey the message of ‘Ek Parivar’ (one community). The five-hour event commenced at 4.00 p.m. and was thoroughly enjoyed by devotees and members of the wider community from all over Perth. The visitors were welcomed through the beautifully decorated entrance gate. They were guided through an exhibition explaining the message of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Indian cultural values and the worldwide activities of BAPS.
Free activities for children including various games, bouncy castles, magic show, face painting and mendhi. On the open air stage BAPS youths presented live classical and fusion music, drama and concluded with multimedia presentation titled 'The Founder & the Guru'.
The celebration ended with a breathtaking fireworks display.
