Devotees at the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Neasden, celebrated the auspicious festival of Jal Jhilani on Sat 6 September 2003. The first phase of the festival was celebrated from 6.15 - 7.30p.m. in the lush surroundings outside the Mandir. Following a short mahapuja ceremony, the small metallic image of Harikrishna Maharaj gave darshan to all in a motorised boat - ‘Bhavjaltarika’. As per tradition, five artis were performed during the assembly intermixed with bhajans by Jaydeep Swadiya.

The second phase of the festival took place in the Haveli on Sunday 7 September 2003 from 7.45 - 9.30p.m., with sadhus explaining the significance of the Jal Jhilani Festival. On this occasion, kishores and kishoris who had excelled in their studies performing exceptionally well at GCSE, ‘A’ level or degree level were felicitated.
