Holi Festival was traditionally
celebrated with great fanfare at the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir,
Neasden, on Saturday 6 March. The shrines in the Mandir
were adorned in beautiful colourful attire and thousands
streamed in to offer their devotion from dawn.
At 6pm, the sadhus with the
sacred image of Thakorji and Shri Vishnu chanted Vedic mantras
as the Holi was lit. Thereafter, a grand sabha was held
in the Haveli explaining the greatness of the Holi festival.
Throughout the day, devotees came to offer their prayers
and some even commented, that they felt they had been transported
back to India; others said that they were very grateful
that their children were able to participate in these traditional
festivals at the Mandir.
