The second Saturday of Swamishri’s visit to the U.K. attracted
many visitors and devotees, gathered in numbers for the morning
walk and pooja.
Before
Swamishri’s evening walk, final year students studying
GCSE, ‘A’ Level and university degrees gathered
before Swamishri to listen to his encouraging words of motivation.
Swamishri assured the students of the support of God, and requested
their sincere and genuine efforts, asking every individual to
reduce time in idle pursuits with particular emphasis to television.
Encouraging prayers to Maharaj, Swamishri emphasised the importance
of remembering God before every paper, and showered petals of
sanctified roses over the assembly. A beautiful concluding touch
was spoken by Swamishri in English; “OK, Understand?”
The evening assembly was focussed around Pujya Viveksagar Swami’s
parayan on the ‘Extraordinary Characteristics
of Bhagwan Swaminarayan’, narrating the divine episodes
of Maharaj and Swami which have transformed the lives of devotees,
with particular detail to the four foundations of ekantik
dharma: dharma, gnan, vairagya and bhakti. An
awards ceremony for the various endeavours of the Sponsored
Walk was conducted by Swamishri, followed by the prizes for
the London five-a-side football tournament.
As
part of his address to parents, Swamishri’s blessings
this evening were focussed on family values and the importance
of the time dedicated to one’s children, discussing the
value of satsang within every house and establishing moral values
from a tender age.
