Tuesday
7 September (Shravan Vad 8) was the holy day of Janmashtami, the birthday
of Shri Krishna. The annual Patotsav, was also held to celebrate the inauguration
of the mandir nine years ago, was held on this auspicious day in the presence
of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. In the early morning, the deities were ritually bathed and a beautiful annakut was offered, after which Swamishri performed the arti. Throughout the day, hundreds of visitors from all over the UK came to the mandir for darshan of the deities. In the evening a special assembly was held and Swamishri mentioned that the work of God continues in this world against all adverse forces. Swamishri then performed the arti and with full devotion sat down to swing the images of Harikrishna Maharaj on a golden hindolo. In conclusion, as a sweet farewell and thanks to Swamishri for giving so much bliss to all, senior sadhus and devotees presented Swamishri with a variety of garlands and shawls lovingly prepared by the Mahila Mandal. |
