Friday 10 November 2006 was celebrated as Parents’ Day. The day also marked the anniversary of the initiation of Shastriji Maharaj as a sadhu in 1882. In the morning the children from The Swaminarayan Independent Day School sang traditional prayers in the mandir when Swamishri came for darshan. During Swamishri’s puja, children performed kirtans and tabla recitals.
In the evening, Viveksagar Swami and Satyaprakash Swami spoke of the necessity of good parenting. In his blessings, Swamishri emphasised the need for parents to instil moral values in their children by spending time with them and also to ensure that they brought their children to the mandir to ensure all-round development. |
