The birth celebrations of Aksharbrahma Gunatitanand Swami were celebrated with great devotion at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London, on Sunday 4 October 2009. The utsav began with yuvaks singing the dhun, which was followed by the bhajan, ‘Dhanya Dhanya Dhanya Mara Nathji’ by kishores and yuvaks.

The first of the five artis traditionally performed on this day followed thereafter. The greatness of Gunatitanand Swami was then enacted through a short skit, illustrating prasangs from his life where his virtues were revealed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan, after which a live bhajan, ‘Swami Gunatitanand Aj’ was performed, interspersed with video clips of Gunatitanand Swami’s life.

A special prize-giving ceremony was organised to acknowledge high-achievers in the recent Satsang Exams and Sanyukta Mandal Adhiveshan, before Doctor Swami spoke of the life and works of Gunatitanand Swami, emphasising the importance of imbibing his virtues to progress spiritually, and preserving the values and principles of Gunatitanand Swami within the family. The final arti of the evening was performed shortly after 8.00pm before devotees and guests departed from the Mandir.
