Diwali Annakut Celebrations
Saturday 17 November
2001, Charlotte, NC
Diwali was celebrated on Saturday, November 17 at the Charlotte
Mandir. This concluded the four-day festivities, which began
with Chopda Pujan ceremony on Wednesday. Devotees had darshan
of more than 400 Annakut items. The evening cultural program
included dances performed by Bal and Kishore Mandals. As always,
these enthralled the participants. The regional saint presented
a keynote address on the importance of Diwali during which the
true meaning of Diwali was noted, i.e., the removal of darkness
in the form of Swabhav, ignorance, and untruths from one’s life.
This is accomplished only by blessings of a Satpurush such as
H.D.H. Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The program concluded with a grand
dinner.
