Sunday 27 January 2002, Charlotte, NC

Charlotte Mandir celebrated Aksharbrahma Gunatitanand Swami Diksha(Initiate) Din on January 27. People participated in this celebration. Program highlights included melodious kirtans exalting the virtues and glory of Gunatitanand Swami. Spiritual discourses elaborated on the significance of this celebration. Diksha of Aksharbrahma denotes that an aspiring devotee should be Akshar-rup in order to attain Moksha or salvation. This is the stage that one has to attain in order to be able to serve Lord Swaminarayan eternally. The true meaning or symbolism behind Diksha of Aksharbrahma is for one to overcome consciousness of his body and to identify his true self, that is, his soul with Aksharbrahma, who is also known as Pragat Gunatit Satpurush.
