Professional
Development Seminar
Saturday 23 March 2002,
Edison, NJ
The Yuvak Mandal, of the BAPS, organized the first ever Professional
Development Seminar, which was a great success. The number of
people attending the seminar exceeded the organizer's expectations.
The goal of the seminar was to assist people of all age in the
development of their careers. The seminar covered subjects as
varied as the status of the IT industry skills are most sought
out by employers, to writing resumes, methods of finding jobs
in a tough market, and interviewing techniques. The intention
of this seminar was to help students understand what skills
employers are seeking in the IT field, as well as, providing
professionals with skills necessary in landing the prefect job.
The presenters for this forum were Paras Shah, CEO and John
Cohen VP, both of Zen and Art. Zen and Art is an IT management
consulting company based out of New Jersey, whose clients are
Fortune 500 companies.
The Yuvak Mandal will be organizing development seminars on
a bi-monthly basis in various industry sectors. Our next seminar
will be held May 18, 2002 focusing on financial investments.
The yuvak mandal also has weekly meetings, held at the BAPS
mandir in Edison, NJ, every Sunday from 3:00-4:00 PM.
