The Houston Mandal celebrated the joyous and auspicious occasion of Shri Yogiji Maharaj’s Janma Jayanti. The program started off with stuti, dhun, and prathna, performed by balaks. Thereafter, devotional, melodious bhajans glorifying Shri Yogiji Maharaj were sung by the kishores and yuvaks. Spiritual discourses and prasangs of Yogiji Maharaj were given and recited by yuvaks throughout the entire evening. The theme of the entire samaiyo was based on Muktanand Swami’s bhajan, “Haji Baala Sadhu.” Each stanza of the bhajan was elaborated and related to Yogiji Maharaj’s sadhana and to his life in general. The program concluded with a small graduation ceremony of high school and college students (kishore, kishori, yuvaks, and yuvati’s). On behalf of the mandir, each graduate was given a memorabilia for his or her outstanding dedication to mandir and academic achievements. The program concluded with aarti, thaal, dhoon, and a delicious, mouth watering mahaprasad, prepared by the balika, kishori, yuvati & suvasini mandal.
