A Northeast Regional Balika/Kishori Karyakar Adhiveshan was held in Clifton Mandir from January 2nd to 4th 2004. Balika and Kishori Karyakars from Atlantic City, Boston, Cherry Hill, Clifton, Edison, Fall River, Jersey City, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC.
Upon arrival, each participant took a required quiz on the book ‘Satsang Samjan’, basic Gujarati, Aarti, Ashtak, etc. Later that evening, all the karyakars participated in their respective mukhpath competitions. Available competitions were Swami ni Vaato, Vachnamrut Quotations, Whole Vachnamruts, Kirtans, and Shloks and Saakhis. The following day all participants took part in talent and oratory competitions, which included Acting, Essay writing, Speech, Swami Ni Vato Nirupan, Prasang Varnan, Prepare a Project Plan, Personal Contact, Solo Singing, and Storytelling. Additionally, each mandal was required to prepare either a multimedia or research project on various topics such as “Mera Bharat Mahan”, “Lord Swaminarayan”, and “A Healthy Humanitarian Lifestyle. These projects were then presented in front of a panel of judges. There was also a light evening program titled “Live from BAPS Broadcasting Station” which entertained as well as educated the karyakars about sacrifices made by the Guru Parampara and what we can sacrifice. The Adhiveshan was also punctuated with various multimedia presentations and speeches on sacrifice and earning Maharaj and Swamishri’s raajipo. The Adhiveshan climaxed with an awards ceremony on the final day. All the karyakars sacrificed their time to study and prepare for the competitions and truly demonstrated that the sacrifice and dedication of one karyakar can make a world of difference. These efforts were made simply to earn the raajipo of Maharaj and Swamishri.
