Aksharbrahma Gunatitanand Swami Diksha Din Celebration in USA & Canada

4 January 2003, Sunday, St. Louis, MO:

The samaiyo started with Stuti, Dhun and Prarthana at the lotus feet of Akshar Purushottam Maharaj and Guru Parampara. The first speech was on the word “Diksha” which helped people understand the importance of different ashrams in Hindu Sanskruti and the diksha process in our Sampradaya. Audience understood the true meaning of Brahma or Mul Akshar in Swaminarayan Sampradaya after enjoying two kirtans by kishore mandal. The second speech was on the historic prasang of Dabhan Yagna and Mulji Sharma’s Diksha to be renamed Gunatitanand Swami. The third speech was on Diksha Prasang of Dungar Bhakta and extraordinary contribution of Shastriji Maharaj of Akshar Purushottam Philosophy to the world. A special video presentation showing Diksha prasang of Shastriji Maharaj was enjoyed by the whole audience. The fourth speech was on Diksha prasang of our beloved Swamishri. Audience was amazed at how easily young Shatilal left his home to become a Sadhu by agna of his Guru Shastriji Maharaj. A short kirtan Aradhana was presented by St. Louis Kishore Mandal. The Samaiyo ended with video presentation of experiences of young Sadhaks and Parshads when receiving Diksha from Pujya Swamishri and Swamishri’s Aashirvachan. Haribhaktos went home with the message that even if we cannot become a Sadhu now, we can still get Maharaj’s and Swamishri’s Rajipo if we can make our atma pure and brahmarup by discarding maya and swabhavs.

4 January 2003, Sunday, Jersey City, NJ :

With a nicely decorated Mandap of Dabhan Yagna on one side of the stage, Jersey City Mandal celebrated ‘Aksharbrahma Gunatitanand Swami Diksha Din’ very joyously on 4th January, 2004. Kirtans describing the importance and greatness of this occasion such as “Roopla Zare, Tarla Vere…” and “Chhayo Chhayo re Aanand Chhayo re…” created a proper environment right after Dhoon and Prathna. Adding to it, a small video presentation was shown to give the true history of knowledge of what exactly happened on the day of Yagna in Dabhan.

A small Kirtan Aaradhna was held by ‘Edison Kirtan Team’ containing various kirtans by Paramhanso and other Bhakta Kavis. After Kirtan Aaradhna, another video presentation was shown containing brief interviews of young BAPS saints answering questions such as how Bapa influenced them to become sadhu and what is unique about BAPS? Continuing on the same thing, P. Amrutcharit Swami talked about Gunatitanand Swami's Seva, Pramukh Swami Maharaj and also Zoli Parva in his Parayan. Sabha was asked to fill out the special forms for Zoli Parva after the Parayan. The sabha was concluded with a video Aashirvad from P. P. Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

Jersey City Yuvak Mandal did a great job in decorating the Sabha hall according to the occasion and especially creating the Yagna Mandap showing Maharaj giving Diksha to Gunatitanand Swami. Mahaprasad was served after the sabha..

4 January 2003, Sunday, Toronto, Canada:

The samaiyo started with Dhun and prathana at the Lotus feet of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Guru Parampara. The stage with the murtis of Akshar Purushottam Maharaj and the murtis of Guru parampara were befitting to the theme of the samaiyo. The first speech on the meaning of the word Diksha and various questions pertaining to it set the groundwork for the rest of the program. The kirtan extolling the prasang of the historic day of Aksharmurti Gunatitanand Swami’s Diksha prasang followed by a pravachan on Gunatitanand Swami explained the importance and significance of this prasang in the history of our sampraday. Kirtan “Shyam piya mori rang de chunariya” enlightened the audience that we too need to discard the materialistic colors of this world and merge and sublime ourselves into the divine color of God and His Saint. Prasangs of Shastrjii Maharaj’s diksha revealed to the audience that just as Gunatinanand Swami came upon this earth to spread the glory of Purushottam, Shastrjji Maharaj was born to spread the true glory of Akshar. Their life full of devotion centered around Shriji Maharaj was reflected through Premanand Swami’s kirtan, “Shyam hamare Nainan ke tare”. Finally, diksha prasangs and examples from the life of HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj proved to the audience that Shriji Maharaj has fulfilled His promise of remaining on this earth through His Gunatit Sant and that we too need to imbibe the qualities of a true sadhu in our lives to attain the bliss and happiness of Shriji Maharaj.
