Swami Maharaj was enthusiastically welcomed by devotees and
dignitaries at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport
as he began his three month tour of North America. For the
first time in BAPS history, a Satsang Assembly was held within
the west wing of the airport, where U.S. Customs Officials,
JFK Airport Security, politicians from New York and New Jersey
were present to receive Swamishri. Many renowned and influential
Indian personalities were also there on this occasion to greet
Swamishri.
After the assembly, Swamishri
was given a police escort to the New York Mandir, where he
inaugurated the majestic, newly constructed entrance and addition
to the mandir. Swamishri was in a jovial mood as he affectionately
did darshan and humbly performed prostrations to the deities
in the mandir.
