New York mandir (temple)
was packed with countless devotees to witness the murti
pratishtha (image installation) ceremony performed by
Pramukh Swami Maharaj, which included a traditional Vedic
mahapooja performed by saints.
This was New York's fourth murti
pratishtha since 1974, and this time, a majestic sinhasan
(shrine or throne) and new murtis (images) were
consecrated by Swamishri. On this historic occasion, Dr. K.
C. Patel, a pioneer of Satsang in America, noted the growth
of BAPS in North America over the span of three decades, and made
several requests to Swamishri that Satsang continues to progress
at a greater rate.
The Northeast ladies wing presented
a garland created entirely of real pearls to Shri Harikrishna Maharaj
and Swamishri. Swamishri was in a particularly joyous mood
transforming the atmosphere to one of surreal divinity.
