It is human nature to look out
for one's own interests. It is much harder, yet more rewarding,
to sacrifice for God and Guru. The evening cultural program
highlighted the importance of this form of sacrifice, or samarpan.
The same message was portrayed in a motivational drama, "Anupam
Samarpan Gathaa", performed by the youth wing. It narrated
the incident of Veera Bhagat, a devotee from Shreeji Maharaj's
time, who made great sacrifices during the construction of
a temple.
In his blessings, Swamishri
furthered this message by explaining that what the body enjoys
is an illusion that does not compare to the constant joy one
experiences in Akshardham. He also explained that even if
we do just a little for God, he gives us many folds in return.
Also present at the assembly was Mr. Tony Mendoza, council
member of the city of Artesia, who presented a proclamation
on behalf of the city welcoming Swamishri and honoring "his
influence for the good accomplished by the BAPS organization."
