A Mandir is
a place of paramount peace, a place which inspires a higher
way of life, a place which teaches us to respect all, and
a place that teaches us to preserve values for generations
to come. And when a true satpurush installs God within its
wondrous walls, the Mandir comes alive with divinity.
These qualities
of the Mandir, and many others, were discussed by senior
saints such as Pujya Viveksagar Swami, Pujya Doctor Swami,
and Pujya Atmaswarup Swami in an assembly immediately following
the Pratishtha.
Several distinguished
guests were present in the assembly to felicitate Swamishri
and BAPS on the inauguration of the Mandir. Congressman
Tom Delay, House Majority Leader of the 108th Congress praised
the works of Swamishri by saying, "The combination of architectural
skill and poetic spirit imbued in this Mandir honors not
only the faith that it will serve but the community it will
beautify." Among the other dignitaries were Fort Bend County
Judge Robert Herbert, Consul General of India S.R. Tayal,
and Parampujyapad Satguru Bodhinatha Veylan Swami of the
Kauai Hindu Monastery.
Kishores expressed
their joy on this occasion through a dance praising Swamishri,
after which Swamishri blessed the assembly. Swamishri mentioned
that the Mandir would give inner peace to its visitors,
and also increase their dharma. He explained that true dharma
is living a life full of good intentions and actions, benefiting
all living beings.
