On the eve
of the Murti Pratishtha, hundreds of devotees took all 16
murtis on a grand, colorful procession through the streets
of Houston. 14 different floats were on display to the residents
of Houston on this 4 hour long Shobha Yatra which eventually
ended at the steps of the Shikharbad Mandir.
This included
Shri Akshar Purushottam Maharaj seated on a Peacock float,
Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj on an Eagle float, Shri Harikrishna
Maharaj on a Lotus float, Shri Radha Krishna Dev on a Swan
float, Shri Sita Ram and Hanumanji on a Chariot, and Shri
Shiv Parvati and Ganeshji on a float in the shape of Mount
Kailash. Murtis of the Guru Parampara were also taken out
on decorative floats.
Devotees shared
their Indian culture with the community through vibrant
dances from all over India as well as devotional singing.
Children, youths, and adults also carried flags from different
nations around the world, banners, and other decorative
artwork. The procession of saints, men, and women set a
mood of excitement for the upcoming Pratishtha ceremony.
