As a part
of traditional murti pratishtha rituals, a Vishvashanti
Mahayagna, or a World Peace Prayer was conducted in the
early morning by learned Brahmins from India. In this second
yagna held in two weeks in North America, hundreds of yajmans
performed the rituals in one of 84 yagna pits.
Swamishri also
graced the yagna and took part in the vidhi, during which
he bathed Shri Harikrishna Maharaj with panchamrut, a combination
of honey, ghee, yogurt, milk, and sugar. He also performed
pujan of all the murtis to be installed during the murti
pratishtha. In his blessings to the yagna yajmans, Swamishri
described the importance of conducting such a yagna for
peace within families, within society, and all throughout
the world. He explained that, "such a yagna should be performed
to please God, in fact, all of our actions should be done
with this goal in mind."
