Hindu scriptures provide a clear
description of the qualities of a true saint, such as the
numerous references to the characteristics of a true saint
as described by Bhagwan Swaminarayan in the Vachnamrut. The
Canada Yuvak Mandal presented a special presentation on this
subject during the evening cultural program in celebration
of Yuva Din.
The program began with a drama
about man's quest for happiness through time, and also conveyed
the importance of conducting a good life. The drama proposed
that the only way to achieve these things is through the association
of a true saint, while saints relayed different traits for
identifying such a saint.
Such a saint is one who observes
God's niyam-dharma closely, has an intense desire to worship
God, understands God as the all-doer, does everything to please
God, and has no ego. Senior saints then explained how each
one of these characteristics can be found within Swamishri.
Swamishri concluded the evening
program by blessing the assembly. He explained that the only
means to liberation is through the manifest form of God.
