Northeast Balika Spring Shibir 2005 |
|
On Thursday, March 24, 2005, balikas from Northeast region gathered in Jersey City Mandir, NJ to launch the process of fulfilling Swamishri's vision and to support various mega projects in the Northeast Region. From March 24th-March 27th 2005, balikas from Clifton, Edison, Jersey City, Cherry Hill, Landsdale, Parsippany, and Washington DC gathered in Jersey City and engaged in a three day shibir where the theme "Chhiye Ame to Chotaaji, Pan Vichaaro Motaaji" (though we are small, we have big thoughts) was expressed. Through various workshops, activities, and classroom sessions, the balikas learned that despite being young, they, as the next generation of our sanstha are an integral part in fulfilling Swamishri's vision. The hands on activities were all centered on Samp, Suradaybhav, Ekta and truly becoming "Ek Parivaar" (one family). They planted the foundation for one united Northeast Balika Mandal by learning about BAPS and its various components. Out of their own imagination they created their own version of Akshardham made out of graham crackers, candies, Styrofoam and other materials. Through informative and interactive presentations they derived inspiration from and learnt how their Gurus achieved impossible numerous feats despite opposition from every corner. The evening program on the last day of the shibir discussed various issues that the balikas encounter during sabha or other mandir related activities. This discussion was entertainingly performed via a series of skits enacted by their own sanchalikas. The program concluded on a positive note as the audience (balikas themselves) actively participated by suggesting solutions to these matters presented in the skits. This was very effective for the balikas in learning how to overcome these barriers, please Swamishri and truly feel the sense of being in BAPS as Ek Parivar.. With the thoughts of Maharaj and Swami, and enthusiasm for the future, the balikas departed on Sunday, March 27 to their respective mandirs to implement their plans on working together as "Ek Parivaar". |
