December 1-31, 2005
USA & Canada
On the auspicious
occasion of the birthday of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj,
the North America Mahila Mandal celebrated Guru Hari Janma
Jayanti, with great devotion and love during December 2005
in BAPS centers across North America. The theme of this year's
celebration exemplified the numerous qualities of Swamishri
- Sadgun Na Bhandar.
Across the nation,
from the youngest balika to the vadil mahilas, everyone's
heart rejoiced as they celebrated this auspicious day. Various
centers celebrated the Guru Hari Jayanti by observing fasts,
sharing prasangs demonstrating the ideal qualities of our
Guru and many such activities that further fostered their
love and devotion for Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
The program was
an elaborate blend of skits, speeches and folk dances. The
skits provided a glimpse in to the persona of Pramukh Swami
Maharaj. His oozing love for mankind, his unparalleled 'Sadhuta'
and the unique inspiration Swamishri provides to aspire for
a spiritually-centered life were some of the highlights of
the skits.
A dance with
lamps in hand performed to the tune of "Pramukh Swami Ka Jai
Jai Kaar" re-energized everyone in the audience. Followed
by the dance was a thought provoking speech centered on main
theme of the program exemplifying the numerous qualities of
Swamishri. A video presentation of Swamishri's blessings enabled
everyone to feel the presence of Swamishri amongst them. The
last segment of the program was comprised of a dance 'Dhanya
Dhanya aa Avsaar' which was then followed by the Aarti and
announcements.
This celebration
across North America was the epitome of the devotion of the
Mahila Mandal. At the end of the celebration everyone experienced
an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and Gurubhakti towards
Swamishri.
