‘Young, free and single’.

These three words best describe

the mentality of today’s youth.

They are at a delicate transition

in their lives, expected by society

to be responsible and yet by that

same society trusted with

sponsibilities or allowed to think

for themselves. It is a period

where they have to leave their

childhood dreams and accept the

realities of life. If we can learn to

trust them, to respect their views,

to treat them as the young adults

they are - and at the same time

still love them as we did when

they were children, then may be

they will be able to accept these

realities and take on the task to

improve the world we live in.

If not, they may rebel against

society and in effect, against us.

We can see Swamishri preparing

yesterday’s children to become

tomorrow’s leaders...

    Reaching Out To the World...

Questions posed by college students.
    Question 1
Question

Student : What should one do to be human?
Answer

Swamishri : To be human one should have compassion, honesty, non-violence, discipline and niyams. If we can make such distinctions then we will be human, otherwise we will be no different from animals.
Question

At present, society is becoming beastly. How can we uplift the level of people’s minds?
Answer

Swamishri : That’s why we preach to people like you. No matter how great the temptations we face, we should never be lured towards them. We do not want a car or a big house, we only want to serve society. If we keep such intentions, we won’t have any problems. We should live simple, contented and pure lives. The more we increase our needs, the more we will feel discontentment. Then we will try to bring others down so that we can get ahead.
Question

What should we do so that we can concentrate fully in all our activities and achieve success?
Answer

Swamishri : We have to make an effort to concentrate harder. Once we have fixed a goal, all our thoughts should be directed towards fulfilling it. To develop intense concentration we need to keep a single thought fixed in our minds, read only about that, discuss only that topic and stay in an appropriate environment. But if we let our thoughts wonder here and there, or if we go to the cinema, then how can we concentrate on our work? To achieve our goal we must be fixed in our niyams. If we behave in this manner, then we will be successful.
