The
weekly audio 'Satsang Sabha' is a new addition to provide spiritual
knowledge and inspiration for devotees and aspirants.
Bhagwan Swaminarayan emphasized the need to read, listen and deliver
discourses for spiritual development. He said that there is no other
better sadhna to elevate one's soul than to listen to discourses with
faith and love. He further added that it is the foundation of one's
satsang and without it one would never attain virtues. Bhagwan Swaminarayan
always inspired the reading of scriptures and He also discoursed to
His congregation (compiled into the Vachanamrut).
Aksharbrahma Gunatitanand Swami was an untiring speaker who advocated
the fleeting nature of worldly pleasures and extolled the glory of Bhagwan
Swaminarayan. He arranged 24-hour discourses in Junagadh, where eight
readers read scriptures in the assembly hall, each for three hours.
Brahmaswarup Bhagatji Maharaj and Shastriji Maharaj continued the tradition
of spiritual discourses. Brahmaswarup Yogiji Maharaj established the
Sunday Assembly for all devotees. Today, HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj has
promoted the Sunday Assembly throughout the world at all BAPS Centers.
To furthur savor the joys of spiritual discourses, through the inspiration
of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, we present an audio Satsang Sabha on a weekly
basis. This is not an alternative to the regular Sunday Assembly, but
an addition.
While listening to this audio Satsang Sabha, we advise all devotees
to sit comfortably and listen with concentration and smruti (remembering
Maharaj and Swamishri), avoiding all distractions, disturbances and
noises.
Each Satsang Sabha will commence with manglacharan (offering respects
to God and Guru), dhun and prarthana (prayer). There are 5 different
dhuns and prarthanas, will be repeated every month. This is followed
by a short discourse by a senior sadhu and thereafter by Swamishri's
blessings. The entire audio Satsang Sabha will last for about 30 minutes.
We hope this website Satsang Sabha, available every Wednesday, will
bring you peace and happiness, and enrich your spiritual knowledge and
faith. We request that you inform others, so that they, too, can avail
of this weekly satsang.
