Nailing
the Hood of Sheshnag:
Swamishri
required some land for putting up a gate at the entrance of the
Bochasan temple. But as the village road passed through that piece
of land, the villagers were reluctant to part with it. Swamishri
wanted to have that piece of land in any event. The villagers
sent an insolent person named Bechar Keesa to convey their refusal
to give it. As soon as he arrived he began to speak indecently.
Swamishri, however, told him calmly: "Look, we require the
land for the purpose of the temple, and you should give it to
us." After this demand when Swamishri cast a glance at him
the heart of Bechar Keesa was at once transformed. He merely asked
: "How much land do you require? Please come, I shall measure
it for you." Swamishri handed him a stick. Bechar measured
four stick lengths. Then Swamishri said, "Measure two more
stick-lengths on our behalf." Bechar did accordingly.
Thus, land stretching as far as the place where the foundation
of the gate was to be laid was procured. Swamishri immediately
got the boundary marks fixed on that piece of land. Dhanji Matadar
could not tolerate this. Swamishri advised him, "Matadar
these pegs are fastened on the head of Sheshnag, do not pull them
out." Even so Matadar pulled out a peg. But seeing blood
on the edge of the peg, he got frightened and at once threw the
peg on the ground. Realising the extent of Swamishri's power,
Matadar fell at his feet and apologised for his misconduct. Swamishri,
with his innate kindness, forgave him and instructed him that
he should always help in the work of the temple.
Now the spiritual aspirants from all over Gujarat began to go
to Bochasan. The philosophy which was being discussed secretly
in Vadtal, out of fear of the opponents, began to resound in Charotar,
the heart of Gujarat. People now fearlessly began to shout the
victory slogan of Akshar-Purushottam, talked about them and glorified
them.
Sadguru Balmukund Swami of Junagadh said in Vadtal : "By
installing the idols of Akshar and Purushottam, Shastri Yagnapurushdas
has purified the upasana (worship) in the Fellowship. Till now
all of us had the upasana of various deities and incarnations.
But now the upasana of Shriji Maharaj along with his choicest
devotee, Gunatitanand Swami, has been established. Thus the pursuit
of the upasana is facilitated."
Krishnaji Ada, the mahamukta (great soul) of Rajkot also advised
everyone: "If you wish to discuss the true knowledge freely,
go to Bochasan. Shastri Yagnapurushdas has rendered yeoman service
to the Fellowship."
