  Living with Swamishri :

1 May 1999 : Saturday (Vaishakh Vad 1), Saputara
  • This evening, an assembly of 2,000 tribals from the district of Dang was held. Colorful,
traditional tribal dances were performed by the local youths. The assembly was also attended
by two royal members from the tribal community.

The assembly climaxed with Swamishri’s blessings : "... God has given us this human body
not to just eat and drink. Even animals indulge and live like this. God, however, has endowed man with the power of discrimination so he knows what is worthy and worthless. Our holy scriptures, spiritual luminaries, and incarnations of God explain and make us aware of this truth.

"By killing animals for food, one can never seek to achieve progress in life. We should have
the noble feelings of ‘To live and let others live’ - then only can we be called humans... After so much worldly progress there should also be progress within ourself. We have to rise and come out from the animal life..."

3 May 1999 : Monday (Vaishakh Vad 3), Kosamba, Dharampur, Kosamba

  • In the evening at 6.10 p.m., Swamishri, after visiting the holy places sanctified by
Shriji Maharaj during His visit to the palace of queen Kushal Kunvarba 183 years ago,
addressed a gathering of 7,000 tribals. After the preliminary welcoming ceremony, tribal folk dances and speeches by dignitaries, Swamishri blessed the occasion. "I congratulate all of you who have come from far and wide places to this spiritual assembly. In this world there are so many different types of benefits, but the benefit one will gain here will elevate you, bring inner progress and salvation. You will also experience the highest bliss because God is the very home of happiness.

"God and His incarnations and holy sadhus have blessed us so that our lives as individuals, as a family, a society and a nation can become better and happier. And to be a recipient of this benefit, that is why the holy sadhus constantly travel for the benefit of all..."

6 May 1999 : Thursday (Vaishakh Vad 5), Kosamba

  • During a special assembly for fishermen, Swamishri blessed them, saying, "... This worldly life is like a jungle or a huge ocean. If you want to cross this ocean, the most you can endeavor is two or three miles. You need a ship to cross it.

"If you get lost in a jungle, you need a guide to get you out. Similarly, we are living in this jungle or ocean of life and we need the holy sadhu as a guide. Just as you are familiar with the ocean and know where the dangers lie, likewise, the holy sadhu is the true guide of life. He steers you away from the dangers and inspires you with pure, good and morally fragrant living.

15 May 1999 : Saturday (Vaishakh Vad 30), Mumbai

  • Several students residing at the Sanstha’s hostel complex in Dhuliya had come for Swamishri’s blessings at the Mandir in Mumbai. Swamishri addressed them, "Do five rosaries and remember God everyday. Study properly and when you grow up serve the country and your parents. You are students, so you should not have any addictions whatsoever. You should not eat outside food either. Since you are staying at our hostel complex you should aim to study the best and together with this do Satsang. Make your life's foundation of strong and proper. Right now you should keep only two things in mind - to study well and to do Satsang. After you graduate then you will be happier, you’ll earn money. Study now and get ready and later you won’t have to worry. If you enjoy now then you will suffer later, but if you put up with hard work and suffering while studying now, then afterwards you will have happiness, happiness and happiness."
  Gems From Swamishri :
  • Look at others with good feelings and be of help to them and offer devotion to God; then God will be happy, happy and happy!
  • We should do what pleases God. He likes one who offers devotion, one who has pure feelings and divinity for Satsang.
  • Through self-introspection and realisation of knowledge one experiences inner peace and happiness.
  • By wilfully enquiring about another’s fault you are only dumping garbage in yourself. It will pain in your stomach, you’ll get sick and experience troubles... Where is the need for you to know? God will see to that.
