• 5 Nov. 99: (V.S. 2055, Aaso Vad 13) Friday, Gondal (Dhanteras)
  Marked as Youth Day, various programs were presented by youths throughout the day. The youths of Goghavadar chapter pledged to refrain from Navratri garba, TV and movies.
• 6 Nov. 99: (V.S. 2055, Aaso Vad 14) Saturday, Gondal Declared as Bal-Kishore Day, special programs were presented by children and teenagers. In the evening assembly they presented a drama, ‘Saint of the Century’, depicting the highlights of Swamishri’s life and work.

• 13 Nov. 99: (V.S. 2056, Kartik Sud 5) Saturday, Rajkot Swamishri blessed a devotee who had prostrated a distance of 8 kms. to the mandir.

3 Nov. 99: (V.S. 2055, Aaso Vad 11), Wednesday, Gondal

• During his blessings in the evening assembly at Akshar Mandir, Swamishri emphasized the importance of overcoming tension."... When people suffer from tension they gamble, drink liquor and start smoking. But does this dissolve tension? When one doesn’t have money one gets tension. When one is out of a job one suffers from tension. So instead of saving money, doesn’t one’s tension increase by squandering it on drinking? During such a crises one should introspect and pray to God. One should not despair but be patient and have faith

5 Nov. 99: (V.S. 2055, Aaso Vad 13), Friday, Gondal (Dhanteras)

• Some youths of Gondal announced before Swamishri that they would daily come for darshan of Akshar Mandir. Swamishri was pleased and said, "There is one Premjibhai who comes here daily. Do you know him? He wears a black topee and white dhoti. For many years he follows a niyam - he comes for darshan everyday! He comes from town on a cycle and still wears a black coat and topee. Ever since I became a sadhu and came here, I have been seeing him. He comes for darshan every day. His niyam of daily darshan is unbroken. So you should remain firm in your niyam. God will be happy and you will get inner strength. He (Premjibhai) was firm so the niyam remained.
  You may think how can you remain firm? But you can!..."
  Someone added, "He is 90 years old and still does not take the support of a walking stick."
  "He never gets a fever and does not take any medicines... His health is fine," a youth added. Swamishri confidently substantiated, "... it is the power of (Akshar) Deri."
  Even by following a small niyam (pledge) like coming to the mandir intensely pleases God and His holy sadhu. One is blessed with inner strength.

12 Nov. 99: (V.S. 2056, Kartik Sud 4), Friday, Gunatitnagar (Bhadra)

• After the morning assembly, the devotees came one by one for Swamishri's darshan. An old, ordinary devotee wearing a local headgear came by. Swamishri affectionately said 'Jay Swaminarayan' to him. Someone asked who he was. Swamishri replied, "When a festival was held in Bhadra during the time of Yogiji Maharaj (1969, murti-pratishtha of mandir) a lot of effort had gone into acquiring water. There was no water in anyone's well; even in the one's we had dug. Finally, we found a little water from a well in a far-off field. It was Nathakaka's well.
  Yogiji Maharaj sprinkled some flowers in his well and the water supply did not run out till the festival concluded." Even after many years Swamishri never forgot the smallest service offered by Nathakaka.

• Without spiritual association one cannot be redeemed of ignorance.
• On achieving power or money one becomes happy and intoxicated. If one gets intoxicated by attaining worldly things then why not by God?
  God is priceless. The holy sadhu is priceless. Then how much joy there must be in them!
• Through one’s own means, wealth or relationship one cannot cross the ocean of life. Only God and His holy sadhu can liberate us from the ocean of life
