- 20 May 2001
(V.S. 2057, Vaishakh Vad 12) Sunday, Sankari, 110th Yogi Jayanti
celebration
- The Yogi Jayanti celebration
was held beneath the newly inaugurated mandir dome. In his
blessings Swamishri said, "Yogiji Maharaj's virtues
and glory were extraordinary. His saintliness and love can
never be forgotten. Mulshankar Vyas of Zambia has never
forgotten the laughter of Yogiji Maharaj which he had experienced
only once. Those who have received his pat (dhabbo) never
forget it
Such was his divine state."
- Divya Sannidhi
Parva - Bal Karyakar
From 20 May to 22 May, a special 2-day camp for volunteers
(karyakars) of the children's wing commenced at 6:40 pm
in the presence of Swamishri. More than 450 male and female
karyakars had arrived for this divine treat. To energise,
guide and appreciate the Karyakars' tremendous effort in
inspiring children with values, education and satsang, the
camp comprised of interactive programs, skits, dramas, speeches
and question answer sessions with senior sadhus, and blessings
from Swamishri. The karyakars were further inspired to effectively
organise their efforts through time and resource management,
human relationships, etc.
- 22 May 2001
(V.S. 2057, Vaishakh Vad 14) Tuesday, Sankari, Divya
Sannidhi Parva - Youth volunteers
The 3-day camp for youth
volunteers (Yuva karyakar) commenced with Swamishri lighting
the inaugural lamp and blessing the assembly. The three-day
agenda comprised of speeches by senior sadhus, question answer
sessions with Swamishri and reports on satsang activities by
sadhus and karyakars. Over 400 karyakars had a special opportunity
of Swamishri's darshan and samagam.
- 26 May 2001
(V.S. 2057, Jeth Sud 4) Saturday, Sankari, Navsari
- In the past few days a cyclone
was brewing up in the Arabian sea. It was heading towards
the state of Gujarat at a speed of 180 kmph. The weathermen
forecasted a catastrophe of monstrous proportion.
During the camp, Swamishri informed the sadhus and karyakars,
" There is a forecast of a cyclone heading towards
Gujarat. At present it is in the sea. Let us offer prayers
so that it dissolves and fizzles out in the sea."
For the next two days, Swamishri offered prayers by chanting
the Dhun. And the cyclone died down.
- This evening, Swamishri's
51st Pramukh Varni Din (anniversary of Swamishri's presidentship
of BAPS) was celebrated at the Navsari Mandir. A drama 'Guru
Roon Adaa Kem Kariye' by balaks and kishores reflected the
indebtedness we owe to Swamishri. The presentation was laced
with a graceful dance and arti in its concluding part. More
than 4,500 devotees had assembled for the celebration. Finally
Swamishri blessed the occasion, saying, " Whatever
progress and growth we see of this Sanstha is due to the
power and glory of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Shastriji Maharaj
and Yogiji Maharaj. Things do not happen out of our wish
and effort. Whatever we start remains incomplete mid-way.
But the work initiated by God, Shastriji Maharaj and Yogiji
Maharaj keeps on progressing. We are what we are because
of those holy people.
" It is because of man's ego that he feels 'I have
done this.' However, even the mighty Ravan could not accomplish
his works
." Swamishri then elaborated upon the
power and all-doership of God."
- 31 May 2001
(V.S. 2057, Jeth Sud 9) Thursday, Surat, Kishore Day
In the evening assembly
1,800 kishores and kishoris had gathered for the special function.
A drama presentation and interviews called 'Aa to Satyug Vartaay
Chhe' depicted the resolve of many youths who have not flinched
or relaxed in their morals.
Finally Swamishri blessed the assembly.
