At 6.00 p.m., Swamishri departed from Bharuch
by car to go to Sankari. About 50 km from Surat, the car engine's diesel
pipe broke and the exhaust pipe started spewing black smoke. After enquiring
from a couple of auto-shops by the roadside, the proprietors said they
did not have a diesel pipe. A further 4 km down the road, near the village
of Sava Patiya, Swamishri's car was brought to a halt by a shop - Jalaram
Electrical Sales and Services. A youth came running out of the shop.
He folded his hands and said Jai Swaminarayan to Swamishri. The attendant
sadhus of Swamishri showed the broken diesel pipe to the youth. The
youth briskly brought a new pipe from a neighbouring shop alongwith
a Keralian auto-engineer. The repair work began. The satsangi youth's
name was Vikramsinh. He was an assistant co-ordinator of the local Satsang
mandal. Vikramsinh was simply wonderstruck to find Swamishri's car before
his shop. A little while later Shardulsinh Vasi, a hotel owner, was
introduced to Swamishri. Then a man came running to Swamishri. He fell
at Swamishri's feet and offered panchang pranams and told his son to
bow down too. "Bapa! Bapa!" he said, "I have had your
darshan several times, but it was always from afar. This is the first
time in my life that I am doing your darshan this close." And so
saying the devotee was overwhelmed with tears and choked with emotion.
"What is your name?" Swamishri asked.
"Navnitbhai Lad. I am a satsangi and live in the nearby village
of Velachha. Vikramsinh comes to our Satsang mandal and sadhus from
Surat visit my village too."
Swamishri then sat for a while on a garden swing with Thakorji outside
Shardulsinh's hotel. Then Swamishri sanctified his hotel and sprinkled
flower petals in a few adjacent shops. On reaching Vikramsinh's shop,
Swamishri entered with Thakorji and sprinkled petals on his garage tools.
Vikramsinh was extremely happy at Swamishri's unexpected grace and blessings.
Shardulsinh then revealed, "After becoming a satsangi, Vikramsinh
has changed for the better. Before, two-three years ago, he was rowdy
and violent."
When the car was repaired, Swamishri blessed the Keralian mechanic and
everyone and left for Sankari. Swamishri arrived in Sankari at 8.55
p.m.
Everyone felt that the car had stalled because Swamishri had wished
to bless Vikramsinh, Shardulsinh, Navnitbhai Lad and others. The grace
and compassion of the Satpurush is unfathomable.
