		Mount Abu is a popular hill station and tourist place. Situated on a hilltop, it has cool climate all year round. Abu is a small town from where Mount Abu is a steep climb (by road) of around 50 kms. Nakki Lake, a natural reservoir, is a beautiful lake on Mount Abu. The APC in Mount Abu, opened in 1991, has the advantage of a very comfortable cool climate with the unpolluted air of a hill station. __________________________________________________
		Admission Date: March 1st week. New Admissions are available for Kindergarten and Std. 1 (age 4½ to 6 years) only. Senior students are not admitted. Procedure:Admission Form (By December), Personal Interview (January). Vacations: The school is closed from December to February every year __________________________________________________
		Accomodation As the students here are very young - Kindergarten to Std. 8 - they are housed in halls rather than rooms. The Mount Abu APC has 4 large halls accomodating 106 students. As in all other APCs, all are provided wholesome hot meals everyday. Different varieties of items are served everyday, from a total menu of 15 items for breakfast, and around 25 items for lunch. Food or snacks are served in the hostel every 2½ hours. A general store caters to any extra needs of the students. __________________________________________________
		Academics In addition to their school classes, the hostel takes care to provide extra coacing to all students to help them perform better. APC Mount Abu has 16 teachers for classwise-subjectwise coaching. The students have 5 hours of daily home study. Monthly subjectwise tests are conducted at the hostel. Regular contact is maintained with the teachers at the ward's school. Special training sessions for writing skills and better performance in maths and science are also held. __________________________________________________
		Recreation Children are encouraged to participate in sports and they regularly play cricket, football, volleyball, basketball on the APC grounds. Table tennis is also popular among the students. __________________________________________________
		Library The library has around 1,500 books. __________________________________________________

		Activities Speech competitions, story-telling, singing, drawing, quizzes, elocution, one-minute-show, and many sports competitions are held for junior and senior students of the hostel. __________________________________________________
