14 August 1999, Saturday, San Antonio, Texas: Inauguration of new BAPS Mandir


On Saturday 14 August 1999, a new BAPS Mandir was inaugurated in San Antonio, Texas. Pujya Yagnavallabh Swami and sadhus performed the traditional installation ceremony of the murtis, which had already been sanctified by HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Over a thousand devotees and well-wishers attended the inauguration. Also the "Yogi Marching Band," comprising of youths from the BAPS center in Dallas, had come specially to join in the celebrations. On the eve of the inauguration ceremony, a programme of devotional songs was presented by Nitin Karia, a renowned singer from Los Angeles.
