Guru Purnima was celebrated with great joy in the presence of Pujya Doctor Swami and sants. The program included devotional, melodious Prathna, bhajans and an enlightening drama, “Charan Ka Prathap.” Spiritual Discourses on the importance of Guru were given by pujya sants.

7 July 2001, Sunday, Charlotte, NC: ‘Guru Purnima’ Celebration

“Guru Shakshat param Brahma” this Vedic theme expressing eternal gratitude and indebtedness to the Guru resonated in the Charlotte’s temple auditorium on the occasion of Guru Purnima. Devotees had gathered to celebrate and offer reverence to their Guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Melodious kirtans enthused and excited the spirits of the participants. Viewing a video presentation on Pramukh Swami Maharaj all the participants were visibly moved by Swamishri’s divinity, simplicity in his action, his perennial desire to put service above self and his addiction in observing discipline in day-to-day mundane activities.


8 July 2001, Sunday, San Jose, CA: Guru Purnima Samaiyo

Guru Purnima was celebrated with great fanfare and devotion. The program consisted of several melodious kirtans and 2 informative speeches : one on Swamishri’s GuruBhakti and other on Swami's bhido For us as a Guru. Also, in their 4-5 minute speeches on the topic “Swami Maara Choo Tame” several Kishores explained their personal experiences and why they consider that Swamishri is theirs. The Yuvak Mandal presented several melodious and inspiring kirtans revolving around Guru bhakti and Guru Mahima.

 




8 July 2001, Jersey City, NJ: Guru Purnima Celebration

To observe this special occasion prathana and kirtans of Guru Mahima were sung by balaks, kishores and vadils. A presentation was staged on the true qualities of a Guru with funny prasangs. The audience really enjoyed this. A Parayan focused on Swamishri's extraordinary qualities as ideal Guru. In the end, people had the chance to do "guru pujan" of the murti of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
