Yuvaks sing a kirtan in qawali style during the evening assembly

Swamishri addresses the evening assembly on Yuva Din

Friday, June 25, 2004

In order to give Yuvaks and Yuvatis a special opportunity to please Swamishri, the West Region celebrated Yuva Din. After singing inspirational kirtans during Swamishri's puja, Yuvaks went to a special morning assembly. Saints spoke about issues that are particularly pertinent to Yuvaks and Yuvatis, such as maintaining satsang in a fast paced world.

The evening program was centered around the kirtan, "Yogi Bapa na prem ma, pagal thai gaya." Yuvaks sang a verse of the kirtan in qawali style, and then this verse was further explained by speeches and skits.

The overall message of the evening, furthered by Swamishri's blessings, was that the joys of the world are temporary, whereas the bliss offered by God and the guru is true and eternal. He explained, "Amid the constant changes of the world, God is constant, His bliss is ever-present."
