  Swamishri performs mantra pushpanjali

Friday, July 2, 2004

"Guru Purnima" is the day when devotees offer their respect, devotion, and love to their Guru. Pramukh Swami Maharaj is the beloved Guru of millions, who through his incessant vicharan has lived his life purely for the well-being of others. All yuvaks and yuvatis in attendance felt privileged to honor Swamishri on this auspicious day.

Saints described how the true Guru is the closest to God on earth, as God resides in every pore of his body. They also explained how true "Guru Pujan" is not restricted to physical reverence for the Guru, but by abiding by his every desire.

After Swamishri blessed the assembly, all delegates performed aarti of Swamishri and offered him a mantra pushpanjali in traditional observance of "Guru Purnima."
