The
tenth patotsav of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Charlotte,
NC was celebrated with great festivities as devotees and invited
guests from the entire Southeast region joined in the celebrations.
Along with the patotsav, the sinhasan installation ceremony
also took place. The four day event, celebrated from August
30th, 2006 to September 2nd, 2006 took place in presence of
Pujya Kothari Swami. Highlights of the event were Parayan,
Shibir- 'Akshardham nu Bhatu', and a soul rendering Kirtan
Aradhana.
The
festivities began with mahapuja followed by abhishek. The
cultural program consisted of kirtans, dance by balaks and
vadils. This was followed by reminisces of harbhaktos and
a video showing the mandir history. Pujya Kothari swami in
his address to the assembly, said that this is not only a
occasion to celebrate but also to remember all the good the
mandir has done in our lives, to change ourselves for the
better. Among distinguished guests present was the Mayor of
Charlotte Mr. Pat McCrory. Mr. McCrory expressed how humbled
he felt by being in the presence of such honorable saints
and devotees of BAPS. The 10th patotsav celebration was an
enjoyable and unforgettable experience for all.
