The murti-pratishtha ceremony at Laxmivadi took place in 1893.
Thereafter, a prestigious assembly of scholars was held in the
presence of Acharya Viharilalji Maharaj. Mahidhar Shastri, an
eminent scholar of the Saurashtra region, challenged the gathering
to a debate. But no one dared confront such a renowned scholar.
Eventually, Swami Yagnapurushdas volunteered and defeated Mahidhar
Shastri. Pandit Rangacharya declared to the assembly that Swami
Yagnapurushdas was unique and the only one of his kind in the
entire Swaminarayan Sampradaya.
