Remains Unenticed
The wealthy Ravjibhai Patel of Mahelav was impressed by the illustrious
ten-year old Dungar Bhakta. Whenever he saw him go to school he
desired to adopt him as his son. Once he asked him, "Dungar,
if you stay with me I will educate you in an English school in
Petlad and make you an officer of the British government."
But Dungar Bhakta rejected the proposal, saying, "Of what
use is education that makes one dependant! I want to become a
sadhu and a pundit and teach Brahmavidya to others."
Dungar Bhakta was virtuous and talented.
